The full-back is currently a free agent after ending his 18-year spell at Madrid and, according to a report by , is eyeing a move to La Liga once again, with his former club Espanyol emerging as the potential suitors to take him back to the club.

Vazauez, who rose from Los Blancos' youth setup, spent a short stint at Espanyol when he was loaned out from the Castilla setup in 2014. He spent one season at the Catalan club and recorded four goals and seven assists across 39 games. Now, with his contract concluded at Real, the Pericos are once again trying to fetch his services.

Vazquez started his career as a right-winger but later had to shift to a more defensive role at Madrid, and he still impressed with his defensive capabilities. Last season, after Dani Carvajal suffered an injury, he led the side's defence and was also wore the captain's armband for much of the season.
