Liverpool fans are laughing at Manchester City and Pep Guardiola after it was reported that they made a ‘formal complaint’ towards referee Michael Oliver.
The Daily Mail report that the club have launched the complaint to referees chief Mike Riley after Oliver’s performance at Anfield sparked outrage in the City camp.
The game between Liverpool and City was billed as the biggest game of the season so far. However, despite the magnitude of the tie and the fabulous performances on show, the officiating took centre stage once again.
Just six minutes into the game, the ball deflected onto the hand of Trent Alexander-Arnold, sparking an array of complaints from the City players and bench. Oliver waved play on and Fabinho would go onto score just seconds later, changing the course of the game.
Guardiola would later scream into the sky after the ball once again struck the hand of Liverpool right-back. However, nothing was given, and now the Anfield faithful are laughing and expressing their anger at the complaints by the opposition.
A few fans have stated that City fans claim they are “always the victims”, whilst another supporter alluded to their rivals’ problems with Financial Fair Play to rub salt into the wounds.
Here’s how the Liverpool fans have reacted…
