According to reports in The Mirror, Everton are ready to launch an audacious £60m move to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the January transfer window, and Toffees fans have been quick to have their say on the rumour.
The Mirror says that new manager Sam Allardyce is keen to bring the 28-year-old, who Dortmund are willing to sell in the New Year, to Goodison Park as Romelu Lukaku’s replacement after the club failed to find a successor to the Belgian during the summer.
Bringing the Gabon international to Merseyside would certainly be a huge coup considering he has scored a remarkable 19 goals in 20 matches for the Bundesliga outfit this term, including two against Real Madrid in the Champions League at the Bernabeu during the week.
Everton supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the story, and while one said there is “more chance of re-signing Kone”, another believes “Moshiri is at it again” after he ended up with Allardyce having initially target Diego Simeone during his managerial search.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
